Peter Obi’s exit will cost PDP 15m votes – Group

The withdrawal of former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will cost the party nearly 15 million votes in the 2023 presidential elections, according to a group called Coalition for Peter Obi’s Presidential Aspiration.

The group made this recognized in a declaration signed through its Chairman, Marcel Ngogbehei, on Thursday, May 26, 2022, following the legit affirmation of Obi’s resignation from the PDP.

Reacting to the development, the employer reconciled the Presidential aspirant for yielding to its request to unload the competition celebration that allows you to shape an alliance with credible Nigerians and run for President in 2023, Punch reported.

The institution defined Peter Obi as a first-rate guy who has refused to enroll in the cash politics presently taking place withinside the PDP, including that he had acted cleverly by opting out of the celebration.

“We are glad that Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra, listened to the request of his 23 support groups to desert the Peoples Democratic Party, following the antics going on inside the party ahead of the party’s presidential primary,” the state said in part.

“Given recent events, it is clear that the PDP has lost 15 million votes as a result of Peter Obi’s decision to leave the party.

“We, therefore, urge Peter Obi to look for Nigerians of like minds and vie to be president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the forthcoming 2023 general election.”

Obi has already stated that he was leaving the PDP due to recent changes inside the party.
